Mr. Dent
Mr. Dent’s seat consists of a tilted circle in 3D veneer which is dented down in a double curved shape where you sit. It is dented up under your legs, in order to give you room to turn around and not feel trapped. The shell lies on two solid wood ribs made of oak, milled out to make the connection surface of the ribs and shell similar to each other. This makes it possible to glue the two parts together. The ribs are also a meeting point between the shell and the legs, following the shell and meeting the shape of the legs. The fact that the shape is double curved and that there is a ring bended down around the whole seat, makes the shell it self structurally robust.
